BitGo plans to launch a quantum protection security tool for institutional Bitcoin wallets within the next few weeks.
Deep Tide TechFlow news, July 9, according to The Block, BitGo announced plans to launch a quantum protection security tool for institutional Bitcoin wallets in the coming weeks, designed to help institutions "assess, manage, and reduce" quantum-related risk exposure for UTXO-type wallets.
The new tool will extend BitGo's existing multi-signature security architecture, covering wallet key risk management, UTXO processing optimization, and institutional wallet operation enhancement. Among other features, BitGo has filed a provisional patent for a new method that "groups and prioritizes UTXOs by address" to reduce security risks for partially spent funds.
BitGo co-founder and CEO Mike Belshe said: "We believe institutions don't need to wait for a quantum event to start managing quantum risk. They should reduce exposure now, strengthen wallet operations, and prepare for future migration to post-quantum security standards."
