BlockBeats News, July 9 - Singapore sovereign investment firm Temasek Holdings stated that it currently has no plans to directly invest in crypto assets and will shift its investment focus to the artificial intelligence sector.

Temasek Global Investment President Nagi Hamiyeh stated that the company manages assets of approximately S$518 billion (about US$400 billion) and plans to increase the proportion of AI-related investments in its portfolio from 6% in Q1 2026 to 15% in 2031. He believes that the AI investment cycle is still in its early stages, with long-term growth potential over the next few decades, although valuations in certain sub-sectors have outpaced fundamentals.

Regarding crypto assets, Hamiyeh stated that Temasek currently has no direct investments in crypto assets and whether it will enter the space in the future depends on the development of the global regulatory environment. He also emphasized that although it will not invest in crypto assets, Temasek continues to monitor the application potential of blockchain technology for the real economy, and believes that the true value of AI will be reflected in enterprise application deployment and business ecosystem construction, rather than relying solely on cutting-edge models.
