US MBA mortgage loan applications decreased 2.2% last week.

Golden Finance reported that on July 8, as of the week ending July 3, the Mortgage Bankers Association (MBA) mortgage application index in the United States fell 2.2%, while the previous week remained unchanged. The purchase mortgage application index fell 0.6%, after rising 0.5% the prior week. The refinance mortgage application index fell 4.1%, after falling 0.7% the prior week. The 30-year fixed-rate average was 6.58%, compared with 6.57% the prior week. Refinancing accounted for 40.6% of applications, compared with 41.4% the prior week.
