Wu Says was informed that the Longgang Branch of the Shenzhen Public Security Bureau recently dismantled a major “stock recommendation and lead-generation” telecom network fraud gang operating in the Bantaian Subdistrict of Longgang. All 247 suspects involved were arrested at the scene, including 245 who have been placed under criminal detention, and RMB 24.08 million in funds involved have been frozen. The gang was led by 11 people including Huang Mouquan, and it set up groups such as call-handling, business operations, and stock recommendation work, with a total of 8 hideouts established. Their method was to obtain individual stock investors’ personal information through illegal channels, use “professional stock recommendations and stable profits” as a bait to generate leads by phone, and lure victims into a fake stock recommendation group to carry out fraud. The case is currently under further investigation.
