Chris Turner: ECB rate hike expectations support euro, Fed outlook dominates market

Mars Finance News, according to JInshi, ING analyst Chris Turner said that expectations for the European Central Bank to raise interest rates again in September are supporting the euro. He noted that tensions between the US and Iran have caused a surge in oil prices, but the euro has shown resilience as the yield differential has narrowed in favor of the euro. However, he also said that the outlook for Federal Reserve rate hikes is “the more dominant theme,” which could cause the euro to fall back below 1.14 versus the US dollar.
