Golden Finance reported that on July 9, the U.S. Central Command said that on July 8 local time, the U.S. military completed a new round of strikes against Iran to further weaken Iran’s ability to attack merchant vessels and innocent civilian crew members in the Strait of Hormuz. The U.S. military struck about 90 Iranian military targets, including air defense systems, coastal reconnaissance assets, missile and drone storage facilities, naval capabilities, and military logistics infrastructure along Iran’s coast. The day before, the U.S. military had successfully carried out offensive strikes against Iran. On July 7, U.S. Central Command forces struck about 80 Iranian military targets, including more than 60 small fast boats of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, aiming to impose a heavy cost on Iran for violating the ceasefire by attacking three merchant vessels transiting the Strait of Hormuz. The U.S. Central Command said that the U.S. military always stays vigilant, maintains strong combat power, and is ready at all times to carry out actions ordered by the commander-in-chief. (Jin10)
