Storage stocks collectively fell in pre-market trading, with SanDisk down over 6% and Micron Technology down over 5%.

Golden Finance reported that on July 8, U.S. memory chip stocks collectively fell in pre-market trading. SanDisk dropped by more than 6%, Micron Technology fell by more than 5%, and Western Digital, Silicon Motion Technology, and Seagate Technology each declined by more than 4%. On the news front, media reported that Apple is testing memory chips produced by ChangXin Memory Technologies. The company plans to use them in devices sold in China. Apple is also taking the lead in lobbying among U.S. technology companies in Washington to seek approval for the broader use of ChangXin Memory Technologies’ products, but the company has not yet committed to using these chips for commercial mass production.
