Suggestions for Becoming More Discerning

1. Only praise others, never disparage them.
2. At any time, give fewer suggestions.
3. Speak in a way that leaves no handle for others to grasp.
4. Don't answer everything you're asked; some questions can be left unanswered.
5. Always keep a backup plan. If you're asked to sign or seal a document, be sure to read it carefully. Keep chat records and transfer receipts, and when necessary, record audio or take screenshots to preserve evidence.
6. Even if you dislike a colleague, maintain a surface level of goodwill.
7. If you're unsure whether to say something, it's better not to say it.
8. Learn to hide your true abilities; don't let others easily see your cards.
9. Never go deep too quickly in a new relationship. Even with close friends, keep at least 30% of your core secrets. Don't tell everything to others—those who hurt you the most are often the ones closest to you.
10. When the situation is unclear, don't get involved; stay an outsider.
11. When expressing an opinion, add "personally, I think" or "for reference only."
12. First think about the purpose behind someone's question, and how answering it could benefit you.
13. If you dislike someone, quietly distance yourself.
