Passive component market demand remains strong, driving Japanese electronic component manufacturers' shipment values to rise consecutively, with capacitor shipment scale hitting a new all-time record in April. The Japan Electronics and Information Technology Industries Association (JEITA) released statistics on June 30, showing that in April 2026, Japanese manufacturers' passive component shipment value reached 231.4 billion yen, a sharp year-on-year increase of 18%. By category, capacitor shipment value grew 20% year-on-year to 167.6 billion yen, rising for 15 consecutive months, with monthly shipment scale exceeding 100 billion yen for 68 consecutive months, further climbing from 162.5 billion yen in March, setting a new record high since JEITA began compiling data in 2014. Resistor shipment value increased 21% year-on-year to 17 billion yen, transformer shipment value rose 8% to 4.1 billion yen, and inductor shipment value grew 6% to 35.9 billion yen.
