Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said on the 6th that he hopes the United States and European partners will make “strong decisions” on air defense support for Ukraine at the upcoming NATO summit. In a social media post that day, Zelenskyy said that from the evening of the 5th to the early hours of the 6th, Russian forces launched 68 missiles and 351 drones at Ukraine, with Kyiv, the Ukrainian capital, as the main target. By the morning of the 6th, the death toll from air strikes in Kyiv had risen to 11, with more than a dozen local sites hit. Zelenskyy said that due to a shortage of Western air defense missile supplies, the Ukrainian military has not performed well in intercepting Russian ballistic missiles. Ukraine hopes the United States and European partners can make “strong decisions” during the NATO summit on air defense support for Ukraine. “As long as Patriot missiles remain in the allies’ warehouses, Russia will continue to strike residential buildings in Ukraine. The US and Europe have enough strength to stop similar attacks.” (Xinhua News Agency)
