Deep Tide TechFlow News, July 9, according to The Block, Block has agreed to pay $45 million to settle with nearly 50 U.S. state regulators. The regulators accused its Cash App of exaggerating platform security safeguards, describing it as having fund protection capabilities close to those of traditional banks, but failing to effectively prevent fraud and not providing adequate customer support or fraud reporting channels. Under the settlement agreement, Block must strengthen customer service, provide round-the-clock real-time support, and cease making misleading statements about platform security. Block denies any wrongdoing.
