US media: Republican mega-donor Ken Griffin voices support for Rubio's presidential run.

Gold Finance reported, on July 9, according to Axios, US Republican top political donor and Citadel Securities CEO Ken Griffin said at a private meeting on Wednesday local time that if the 2028 Republican presidential primary is between Secretary of State Rubio and Vice President Vance, he would support Rubio. Griffin is one of the most active political donors for the Republican Party, donating over $100 million in 2024. Griffin's remarks reflect divisions forming within the Republican Party: one side is establishment figures like Griffin who want Rubio to run, while the other side is a more anti-establishment camp that tends to support Vance, partly because Vance is unwilling to involve the US in overseas conflicts. Griffin said he has supported Rubio in the past, so he is inclined to support him again. Griffin did not specify how he would help if Rubio runs. However, Rubio has said that if Vance runs, he would step aside for Vance.
