This short position finally paid off. $CL was suppressed from 101.27 all the way down to 74.52, with a return rate of +2,455.45%. This morning, many were still watching for a bounce, thinking it could grind at the highs, but I was more concerned about the speed of the decline after the overhead pressure eased. Once buying power weakened, the structure was already off.

I had already noticed this level earlier. What really confirmed it for me was that the rebound failed to surpass the previous high, and volume couldn't keep up. In simple terms, the market didn't fall gradually; capital started actively withdrawing. Once the short-side space opened up, the market released its move very cleanly.

If you're holding a position now, don't just revel in it. A 80/20 partial take-profit approach is more comfortable — lock in most of the profits first, and keep a small position with a protective stop to watch for extensions. Having held this short to this point, the biggest fear isn't missing out on more profit; it's a pullback disrupting the rhythm.

If you missed the move, don't rush. Don't chase shorts, and definitely don't chase entries. Wait for the next setup with a better entry point before acting.
