U.S. President Donald Trump said Wednesday during a NATO summit in Turkey that the U.S. military may reimpose a naval blockade on Iran, but any move to restore the blockade of the Strait of Hormuz would only target Iran, while other countries could still pass normally.

Trump also threatened that the United States might take over Kharg Island, Iran’s largest oil export hub.

He said the U.S. military has no plans to attack Iran’s top-tier targets, such as bridges, but would still destroy such targets if necessary. The U.S. military also does not want to strike Iran’s desalination plants, but may be forced to do so.

Trump said he is unsure whether Iran is truly sincere in negotiations, that he is very unhappy with Iran, and that the U.S. military will likely strike Iran hard again on Wednesday night—possibly launching a large-scale attack and destroying many things.
