Privacy Leak|Shun Hing Group’s Computer System Hacked Months Ago; Privacy Commissioner: Names, Addresses, and Phone Numbers of More Than 920,000 People Leaked

Shun Hing Group discovered months ago that its computer systems were hacked and damaged. The Privacy Commissioner received a data breach notification from the relevant organization on March 23 and launched an investigation. According to the latest information provided by the organization, over 921,000 individuals may have had their personal data leaked, including approximately 920,000 customers' names, titles, addresses, phone numbers, email addresses, and approximately 1,000 employees/service/product/supplier personnel's names/titles, addresses, phone numbers, email addresses, identity document numbers, bank account numbers, salaries, and other personal data.

In addition, the Commissioner stated that according to the latest information provided by the organization, approximately 1,050,000 individuals' personal data may have been maliciously encrypted, including approximately 1,045,000 customers' personal data. The Privacy Commissioner has initiated an investigation into the incident in accordance with established mechanisms, and the investigation is still ongoing.
