Technology Exhibition | The first LEAP East is unveiled today, bringing together over 320 speakers and 450 exhibitors

The flagship Saudi Arabian tech event LEAP is expanding beyond the Middle East for the first time, launching its regional flagship LEAP East in Hong Kong as it extends into Asia. The exhibition officially opens tomorrow (8th). Mike Champion, CEO of organizer Tahaluf, emphasized that this is not just an ordinary exhibition, but a tech investment platform combining government, diplomacy, policy and business implementation, aimed at connecting Saudi Arabia's innovation momentum with Hong Kong's international capital to facilitate real deals and capital flows.

Champion noted that the first LEAP East is far larger than a typical new exhibition, "its scale is 5 to 7 times that of a local new show." The event brings together 343 speakers and over 450 exhibitor brands, with in-depth discussions covering AI, robotics, fintech, biotech and smart cities. He expressed hope that Hong Kong LEAP East will become an Asian tech event that echoes Saudi LEAP, forming an annual major day for tech investment.

The organizers expect to attract investors with over $3 trillion in assets under management (AUM) to Hong Kong, bringing approximately $1 trillion in deployable capital, with more than 400 investors participating on site. The event will arrange matchmaking meetings between investors and startups/enterprises during the exhibition period.

The Tahaluf team also noted that the sector attracting the most investor attention remains AI, followed by biotech; fintech is highly regarded due to Hong Kong's mature market, while smart cities and digital infrastructure have also become popular areas. In terms of exhibition content, the robotics zone is expected to be one of the most visited areas, showcasing multiple humanoid robots and service robots. The startup zone gathers over 250 startups.

Beyond the exhibition floor, LEAP East extends into a city experience, including visits to Cyberport and Science Park, and collaboration with the Hong Kong Tourism Board and CLP to host city activities; multiple invitation-only events will also be held to provide networking opportunities for speakers, sponsors and partners.

LEAP East will be held from July 8 to 10, 2026 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre.
