This $RE short trade played out more cleanly than I expected. Honestly, when it was still at the highs and many people were waiting for it to push higher again, I felt a bit uncomfortable instead. From 0.71099 to 0.61596, +263.86% has already given this trade a clear outcome.

Earlier, I had already noticed the sell pressure above RE: the rally stopped running smoothly, and several attempts to surge higher weren’t able to bring the follow-through crowd along. The key was that grinding, slow, wear-you-down kind of price action—it's the easiest to make people think it’s still going to keep going up.

The real change came when the pullback started to gain volume. At that moment, I didn’t rush to add, and I didn’t get carried away just because the floating profit was expanding. I only watched whether the rhythm could be pulled back (into the original direction) again. Many people end up losing here: they keep wanting to cash in everything after they’ve got a win, and in the end they’re thrown off by a snap rebound.

Now I’ll first protect the profits that have already come out of the move, and then see whether it can continue to weaken. If you missed it, don’t chase. The most comfortable place to enter a short is often not when the drop is the harshest—it’s when everyone still doesn’t believe it’s going to fall.
