U.S. President Trump said that the temporary ceasefire agreement between the U.S. and Iran has ended. "For me, it's all over, a complete waste of time." Earlier, the U.S. launched a new round of airstrikes on Iran and revoked the waiver allowing Iran to sell oil globally, following a series of attacks on vessels in the Strait of Hormuz. Subsequently, Iran's Revolutionary Guard said it had carried out a joint missile and drone operation against U.S. military targets in Bahrain and Kuwait in retaliation for the U.S. airstrikes. Trump said he would not prevent the two countries' negotiators from continuing contact, but was pessimistic about the talks. "I don't want to deal with them. They're a group of sick, cruel, and violent people. If they had nuclear weapons, they would definitely use them." International oil prices rose sharply, with September Brent crude futures up 5.19% to $78.01 per barrel, and August New York crude futures up 5.37% to $74.22 per barrel. (mn/u)
