Meta just launched Muse Image, its first internal image model. What's the magic word? It pulls from public Instagram profiles by default — and users won't even be notified when their photos are used. This is a privacy nightmare, but at the same time a huge data advantage for training models.
Internal tests show Muse Image outperforms Google's Nano Banana 2 in editing, though OpenAI's GPT Image 2 still leads overall. But Meta's $14 billion acquisition of Scale AI last year gives it real power. And with the launch of 30 new effects on Instagram and ad tools, this is a direct monetization move.
