After trading for a long time, you’ll find that making profit on a drop puts your mindset to the toughest test. It’s not about getting excited when you see a bonus, and it’s not about panicking just because there’s a rebound. The key is judging whether this move’s release from the key level has continuity.

For this $OPN trade, I started looking short from around 0.0886. The current price is already at 0.0588, with a current return of +1619.75%. My view is that the prior high didn’t continue to open up further upside space—instead, it gave the bears a better opportunity to play.

Along the way, what I focused on most was the quality of the rebound—whether it could reclaim that level again. As it turned out, every pullback and bounce was relatively weak, so for position management I followed an 80/20 approach: first protect the main gains, and then use the remaining portion to observe how the pace changes.

Don’t chase if you miss. Don’t let profits run wild. Only when you’re clear on your protection level does it make sense to keep reviewing.
