According to China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT), the AI programming tool Claude Code (versions 2.1.91–2.1.196), developed by the American company Anthropic, contains a security backdoor vulnerability detected on July 8. The tool uses a built-in monitoring mechanism to transmit sensitive user information (including location and identity data) to a remote server without user consent. MIIT recommends immediately auditing affected development terminals and upgrading to the latest patch version.
