Why do some people hold such a strong bias against open-source projects being acquired?


With a big company to support them, there's no worry about livelihood, and the project won't suddenly die off—this is a good thing.
If you say that after being acquired, the project will be cut and killed by the big company,
that’s still the path the project founder chose themselves;
they intended it that way, a mutual choice.
