5 extra days! Claude Fable 5 subscription offer extended to 7/13

Anthropic announced on official X that the originally scheduled July 7 expiration of the Claude Fable 5 subscription offer will be extended to July 12, applicable to all paid plans including Pro, Max, Team, and some Enterprise tiers.

Anthropic's originally scheduled July 7 expiration of the Claude Fable 5 subscription offer was extended at the last minute by the official announcement on X to July 12: "We are extending access to Claude Fable 5 on all paid plans through July 12." (Taiwan users may have a slight extension to July 13)

The scope is clearly stated: all paid plans, including Pro, Max, Team, and some Enterprise tiers; free plans are not included. However, note that this extension merely shifts the timeline, and the usage rules remain completely unchanged:

Fable 5 Usage Rules

Currently, Fable 5 can be used up to 50% of the weekly usage cap; exceeding the cap automatically switches back to other models like Opus 4.8 and Sonnet 5, continuing with the remaining quota.

For example, if 40% of the weekly usage has already been consumed by Sonnet 5 this week, Fable 5's available cap is not the full 60%, but half of the remaining 60%, i.e., 30%. In other words, the more other models are used, the less space is left for Fable 5.

The Extension Came Suddenly

The market widely expected Fable 5 to be removed from the subscription model after July 7 and switched to a prepaid credit system (usage credits) similar to API billing. Communities even circulated "how to maximize Fable 5 usage in the last 3 days" guides, teaching users how to squeeze out quotas before the deadline and schedule the most resource-intensive tasks into the countdown.

After July 12, paid plan users who want to continue using Fable 5 must manually enable prepaid billing: $10 per million input tokens and $50 per million output tokens, roughly twice the price of Opus 4.8, and the highest-priced model among Anthropic's currently publicly available GA models.
