Japan's real household consumption declines year-on-year for 6 consecutive months.

According to a survey released by Japan's Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications on the 7th, Japanese household consumption continues to face pressure, with real household spending in May declining year-on-year for the sixth consecutive month.
Data shows that the average monthly consumption expenditure of households with two or more people in May decreased by 0.4% year-on-year.
Among the 10 major categories of consumption expenditure, three categories saw year-on-year declines.
Specifically, expenditures on transportation and communication, utilities, and culture and entertainment declined significantly.
Among them, transportation and communication spending fell by 15.8% year-on-year, mainly due to a sharp drop in related expenditures such as car purchases.
Food expenditures turned to year-on-year growth for the first time in four months.
However, according to a report by Nikkei, Japan's Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications stated that against the backdrop of rising food prices, residents' tendency to save on consumption remains evident.
