Guangdong Provincial Hydrology Bureau issued the first red flood warning of this year.

A reporter learned from the Guangdong Provincial Hydrology Bureau on the 7th that due to the influence of upstream water, the water level of the Xijiang River continues to rise. The Guangdong Provincial Hydrology Bureau upgraded and issued a red flood alert for the Fengkai section of the Xijiang River at 8:00 that day. At 8:00 on July 7, the water level at Fengkai Jiangkou Station, located in Fengkai County, Zhaoqing City, Guangdong Province, was 17.24 meters (warning level 17.80 meters). According to the current analysis of rainfall and water conditions, it is expected that the water level at this station will rise to the warning level around noon on July 7, and will rise to about 22 meters by the morning of July 8 (exceeding the top elevation of the old urban area levee on Jiangkou Street in Fengkai County), and will continue to rise thereafter. The Guangdong Provincial Hydrology Bureau is closely monitoring changes in rainfall and water conditions, strengthening hydrological monitoring and water situation consultations, promptly issuing rolling forecasts, warnings, and risk alerts, and making every effort to ensure the safety of people's lives and property.
