Today (the 6th), the Nanning Emergency Management Committee released a situation briefing. Affected by this year’s 10th typhoon, Typhoon “Maysak,” from 8:00 on the 4th to 11:00 on the 6th, most areas of Nanning experienced heavy to extremely heavy rainfall, and in some areas there were exceptionally heavy downpours, causing a rapid rise in water levels in some rivers and streams. On the morning of the 6th, in Hengzhou City, the Liulan Reservoir and the Yunbiao Reservoir experienced overtopping and breach situations, and in Binyang County, the Liuwang Reservoir experienced overtopping of the dam. At 11:30, the Nanning Emergency Management Committee upgraded Nanning’s flood control Level III emergency response to Level I. Currently, residents in Hengzhou City and Binyang County who are at risk are being rapidly and safely organized for evacuation. According to meteorological forecasts, the rainfall intensity over the Liuwang Reservoir and Liulan Reservoir will weaken. People in the relevant areas are urged to closely monitor flood warning information and flood control notices, stay away from dangerous areas that may be affected by flooding, and not gather, linger, or watch near river embankments, low-lying areas, and other locations. They should voluntarily follow the advice and guidance of staff, and cooperate with related work such as evacuation, resettlement, and temporary control measures. (CCTV News)
