Golden Finance reported that on July 8, the Iranian Foreign Ministry, in a statement issued at 8 local time, condemned the U.S. Treasury Department’s move to revoke the measures that had suspended sanctions on Iranian oil sales. It said this action constitutes a serious violation of the terms of the U.S.-Iran Memorandum of Understanding signed on June 18, and that the U.S. government should be responsible for the consequences arising from this breach. The statement also said that over the past 20 days, the United States and actions taken through Israel against Lebanon have repeatedly, directly or indirectly, violated different provisions of the Memorandum of Understanding. While warning of the possible consequences that the U.S. breach may bring, the Iranian Foreign Ministry stated that Iran will take all measures it deems necessary to safeguard national interests and security.
