Coinbase obtains UK MiFID license, will offer derivatives and stock trading to UK users.

Jinse Finance reports that, according to the official Coinbase blog, the leading US crypto exchange Coinbase has officially obtained the MiFID (Markets in Financial Instruments Directive) license issued by the UK Financial Conduct Authority (FCA). This follows Coinbase's inclusion in the FCA's crypto asset registration list in February 2025, further upgrading its regulatory qualifications in the UK market and making it the most licensed top crypto trading platform in the UK in terms of business scope.
With this license, Coinbase can legally conduct a full range of financial services in the UK, including crypto derivatives trading, institutional brokerage, and investment advisory, no longer limited to spot trading and asset custody.
