Meta embeds AI image generation model in social apps
Meta has launched a new image generation artificial intelligence (AI) model called Muse Image, its first such release since the company rebuilt its Super Intelligence Lab under AI director Alexandr Wang.
Muse Image will be embedded in Meta's social applications, including Instagram and WhatsApp, and will later arrive on Facebook and Messenger. Users can generate images based on text prompts or ask the model to edit existing photos. All images created using Muse Image will contain an invisible watermark, and security measures have been implemented to prevent users from using Muse Image to create content that violates Meta's terms of service.
Muse Image can respond to simple conversational descriptions without requiring precise prompt engineering. Users can describe a scene from scratch or provide an existing photo for editing. It can remove unwanted people or objects from images, generate clear, readable, and realistic infographics, and even produce fully functional QR codes based on descriptions.
