When that midnight move downward broke through, I was actually relieved. This $ESPORTS trade went from 0.02772 to 0.01813, for a return of +681.19%—not because I’m particularly godlike, but because the pressure at the higher levels was painfully obvious. I pulled hard a few times, but couldn’t build any momentum.

At the beginning, it wasn’t easy either. Those intraday bounces and pullbacks were pretty annoying—especially the moment it looked like it was about to reclaim the level. It’s very easy to start doubting yourself then. The key was that every time it went up, nobody followed; instead, the critical levels kept getting probed. This detail is one that many people overlook.

Put simply, the biggest risk with a short trade is getting in when emotions are at their most frantic and urgent. I’d rather wait until it confirms weakness. Now that this profit has come through, I’ll first control the drawdown—so the pace I’ve built doesn’t get thrown off by a single bounce.

If I miss what comes next, then I miss it. Don’t chase the last leg. The market will present the next opportunity at another position.
