Wu Shuo learned that Patrick Hansen, Circle’s Senior Director of EU Strategy and Policy, cited the European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA) temporary MiCA registration data, which shows that one week after the EU’s comprehensive application of the Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation (MiCA), there are 21 authorized electronic money token (EMT) issuers in the EU, coming from 12 countries, with a total issuance of 35 EMTs, covering 8 denominated currencies. Hansen said that France continues to lead other member states with 6 regulated issuers; meanwhile, the number of asset-referenced token (ART) issuers remains at 0, and the number of crypto-asset service providers (CASPs) registered under MiCA has exceeded 270.
