"Things are about timing: the right time, the right place, and the right people. When the timing is off, the more you rush, the easier it is to fail."
Trading also requires the right time, right place, and right people.
When the time comes, heaven and earth work together; when fortune wanes, even heroes are not free.
Throughout history, how many people with great skills have met regret, "dying before their mission was accomplished," because they misjudged the timing and went against the trend?
And how many seemingly ordinary people, by seizing the right time, place, and people, rode the trend and achieved great things?
▶Rushing is the biggest fatal flaw in doing things.
What are the right time, right place, and right people?
❶ The right time is a good opportunity to act.
❷ The right place is a good environment to act.
❸ The right people are good partners to act with.
The more I think about it, the more I realize these six words represent an extremely wise philosophy of survival: many things cannot be rushed; they must be brewed by time and achieved by timing.
Shrink the "self" and magnify the laws.
True weakness is not about pretending to be pitiful, but about acknowledging one's own smallness, like water:
Sink to the lowest point first to see every nook and cranny; then flow along the terrain, not bumping around recklessly. Not making mistakes is the fastest shortcut.
When the time is unfavorable: like rowing against the current—if you don't advance, you retreat.
The *I Ching* says: "Stop when it is time to stop, act when it is time to act; do not miss the moment of action or stillness, and the path will be bright."
All things in the world are inseparable from the word "opportunity," just as a seed needs spring warmth to break through the soil, and a young eagle waits for the wind to spread its wings.
Laozi repeatedly warns in the *Tao Te Ching*: "He who stands on tiptoes does not stand firm; he who strides forward does not go far."
Those who force themselves on tiptoes cannot stand long; those who rush in long strides cannot go far—this is exactly the way people rush for results.
Running around for fame and profit, anxious about outcomes, they do not know that "when things reach their peak, they grow old, which is called not following the Way."
Rushing for quick success against the natural rhythm will ultimately be like an arrow at the end of its flight, unable to accomplish great things.
The ancients said: "When heaven does not get its time, the sun and moon lose their light."
They observed celestial phenomena to interpret "trends": spring's gentle qi gives birth to all things; summer's fierce qi makes them grow; autumn's sharp qi brings harvest; winter's cold qi stores them.
If a person acts against the trend of the times, it is like sowing in winter: the seeds won't sprout, and their roots rot from the cold; even pouring a hundred buckets of warm water is just wasted effort.
The so-called "right time" is the direction of the era's current and the rhythm of things' development, like the natural law of sowing in spring and harvesting in autumn—not to be defied by human force.
When King Tang overthrew Jie and King Wu overthrew Zhou, it was because Jie and Zhou were immoral, angering both heaven and people, thus seizing the right time to act on behalf of heaven.
At the beginning of the reform and opening up, countless entrepreneurs followed the trend and achieved success by riding the era's dividends—this was precisely fitting the "right time" of developing a market economy.
The *I Ching*'s Qian hexagram says: "The flying dragon is in the sky; it is advantageous to see the great man."
This is a precise interpretation of the right time: when the time is ripe, following the trend yields twice the result with half the effort; when the time is not yet ripe, "the hidden dragon should not act," and rushing will only backfire.
Thus, Laozi says: "Action is good at timing."
Action must skillfully seize the moment. It emphasizes that water takes the shape of whatever it encounters—square or round—and people should move with the situation like water, without force or impatience.
History and reality have long confirmed the importance of opportunity:
Jiang Ziya fished by the Wei River, not out of passive withdrawal, but to quietly wait for a wise ruler until King Wen appeared, then he could unfold his grand plans and achieve the great feats of canonizing the gods.
Zeng Guofan's pacification of the Taiping Rebellion was not about rushing for victory but about "building strong fortresses and playing dumb battles," advancing step by step, and finally succeeding at the right moment.
These examples all show that opportunity is never rushed—it is awaited and cultivated.
Calmness is the gateway to cultivation; waiting is the prelude to opportunity.
As *Cai Gen Tan* says: "Those with impatient and careless temperaments accomplish nothing; those with a calm and peaceful mind attract all blessings."
The right time is the rhythm of the era; when it's time to wait, wait. If the time hasn't come, rushing is just busywork; when the time arrives, going with the flow makes it easy. $BTC
