US stock market trend | Dow rises over 100 points in early trading, hitting a new high

The Dow rose more than 100 points in early trading, at one point hitting a new high.

As of 9:36 p.m. Hong Kong time, the Dow Jones Industrial Average reached a high of 53,289 points, and is now at 53,214 points, up 158 points or 0.3%; the S&P 500 index is at 7,532 points, down 5 points or 0.07%; and the Nasdaq is at 25,974 points, down 153 points or 0.59%.

Oil prices rose. New York crude oil futures are currently at $69.32 per barrel, up $0.77 or 1.12%; and London Brent crude is at $73.04 per barrel, up $1.05 or 1.46%.
