Huawei "Genius Teen" Li Bojie responds to "taking money and losing contact" allegations: investment funds not fully received, resignation approved by board of directors

BlockBeats News, July 7 - Li Bojie, one of Huawei's first batch of "Genius Youth," criticized DeepSeek's interview experience on social media, claiming he was accused of cheating during a coding interview and subsequently terminated the interview on the spot. This criticism quickly sparked a new controversy. Former investor and co-founder of Web3 venture capital firm ABCDE, Du Jun, publicly accused Li Bojie of "lacking a spirit of contract." Du Jun alleged that Li Bojie and his partner Zhuang Siyuan, during the establishment of Metagent in 2024, refused to fulfill the contractual obligation to synchronize financial and business progress after receiving investment from ABCDE, and subsequently went silent and disappeared. Du Jun stated that he could accept various failures in projects, but could not accept the fraudulent behavior of founders taking the money and running.

In response, Li Bojie stated, "The investment agreement with ABCDE Capital was for $1.5 million, but only $500k was actually received, with the remaining $1 million never paid; the company's cap table still records the institution's equity based on the $1.5 million share. Due to the delayed receipt of the investment funds, both he and the co-founder voluntarily reduced their salaries, and the company faced difficulties in hiring and R&D."

"In October 2024, due to personal family reasons, I could not leave mainland China, and the Web3 project was non-compliant, so I resigned from Metagent with board approval." He stated that, up until his resignation, as CTO and co-founder, he had consistently fulfilled his duty to disclose the cap table and business status on schedule, and in accordance with the non-compete clause in the agreement, subsequent entrepreneurial projects intentionally avoided areas such as Web3, AI infrastructure, and image generation.
