BonkDAO Suffers Malicious Governance Proposal Attack, Approximately $20 Million in BONK Stolen

On July 7, Bonk's official Twitter account announced that the BonkDAO treasury was attacked by a malicious governance proposal, resulting in the theft of approximately $20 million worth of BONK tokens. Investigations revealed that the relevant address had purchased BONK through a CEX wallet prior to the proposal being initiated. BonkDAO is collaborating with CEX, cross-chain bridges, and the Solana Foundation to address the issue, and law enforcement has been notified. Efforts to recover the funds and pursue accountability will continue. Following this news, Bonk's price dropped by 8.7% within 24 hours.
