Abstract generation in progress
On July 6, Ascletis Pharma announced that it has recently submitted two Investigational New Drug (IND) applications to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA): ASC36, a next-generation polypeptide amylin receptor agonist designed for once-monthly to once-quarterly administration, and ASC36_35 FDC, a once-monthly injectable combination formulation of ASC36 combined with the polypeptide GLP-1R/GIPR agonist ASC35, for the treatment of obesity. Wu Jinzi, founder, chairman, and CEO of Ascletis, stated that recent data for eloralintide combined with tirzepatide showed a 29.0% weight loss at week 32, but the regimen requires two weekly injections. In contrast, ASC36_35 FDC requires only one injection per month, and in a head-to-head study in diet-induced obesity (DIO) rats, its weight loss effect was relatively improved by approximately 51% compared to the eloralintide and tirzepatide combination.
