According to Bitcoin Magazine, Tether plans to natively issue USDT on Bitcoin via RGB protocol v0.11.1, with UTEXO driving commercialization and deployment. This means USDT may return to the Bitcoin network where it was first issued in 2014 through Omni-Mastercoin. RGB will enable users to send and receive USDT between Bitcoin addresses and compatible wallets. UTEXO says the related functionality is expected to go live as early as July, with wallets such as Tether Wallet and multiple exchanges to follow.
