The Fed doesn't cut rates in 2026—no liquidity in crypto means no bull run?
This market hasn't dropped much, but it just fails to spark any excitement. It hasn't fallen much, yet more and more people are turning bearish.
In financial markets, patience and confidence are crucial, and the big players use various market moves and news to crush retail investors' morale. Yesterday, a follower asked me, "Bro Jia, is 2026 really going to be like this? No bull market?" His reasoning was: "The market hasn't gone up for a long time. Has Bitcoin really bottomed? Many coins are still at the bottom, even breaking new lows, and without the Fed cutting rates, there's no liquidity." I hit him back with two questions. First question: "You went through the last bull run. Before the big surge in 2021, back when you weren't my follower yet, weren't you also confused before the rally? And then you missed out on the last bull market." Many people only experienced the big rally in 2021, so they think that kind of move happened fast. But if you entered after the bear market bottomed out in late 2018, I'm sure you wouldn't have made it to the 2021 bull run because you'd have been worn down in 2019 and 2020. Comparing the *outcome* of the last bull run to the *process* of this one is itself a flawed comparison. Many want to gain 5x, 10x, dozens of times, even hundreds of times, but if you're always worried about a big crash and always think the bull hasn't come, once the market does rally, can you still make 10x or dozens of times?
Second question: "Do you really understand what the Fed cutting rates means for crypto? Does liquidity depend *only* on the Fed cutting rates?"
Retail investors usually focus on recent events. Many think because the Fed flooded the market in 2020, leading to the 2021 crypto bull run, they assume that only when the Fed cuts rates to a certain point and pumps liquidity will the bull come. In reality, among all the crypto bull runs, only the last one happened to coincide with the Fed cutting rates and printing money. Before that, without rate cuts or liquidity injections, bull runs still occurred.
