The South Korean stock market is a real-life “Squid Game.”


Over the past year, the KOSPI index has seen daily swings of more than 2% a total of 77 times.
During the same period, the S&P 500 had only 5 such instances.
There were 44 days when the KOSPI’s daily swing exceeded 3%, while the S&P 500 had none.
Days with swings over 5%: 23 days.
In the first half of 2026, foreign capital outflows exceeded $100 billion, and June alone saw $30 billion leave.
