📊 Profit surged 1810%, but the stock price fell 😷!

Samsung released a blockbuster earnings report today: Q2 operating profit was 89.4 trillion won, surging 1810% year-on-year, with single-quarter profit exceeding the total of the past three years. Pretty impressive, right?

However, after the Korean stock market opened, Samsung fell over 6% at one point. The better the performance, the steeper the drop. "Buy the rumor, sell the news" has always been the same script in both traditional stock markets and crypto markets.

The only large SMSN bull whale on-chain built a position at an average price of $204.35, currently with an unrealized loss of 18%. Not only did they not cut losses, but they also added 2,870 units in the $194-$198 range.

Let me share a few personal views:

When expectations are too high, you should be cautious when positive news materializes – this rule applies to any market. Samsung's recent performance had already been priced in by the market. So when you see good news, don't rush to chase; think about whether it's already Price In.

Now look at this whale's operation – trapped at an average price of $204, they chose to add positions at lower levels to lower the cost. Whether this approach is right or not is another matter, but the thinking is worth pondering: the bullish logic hasn't changed, and a decline is an opportunity to accumulate in batches. Of course, the prerequisite is that you can withstand unrealized losses and your position is manageable.

Samsung's fundamentals are indeed strong – strong demand for AI memory chips,$DRAM
and $NAND prices have surged continuously. What the market worries about is not the present, but whether AI infrastructure might slow down.

Summary: When positive news materializes, it's actually a time to examine your positions. Don't be led by emotions; FOMO when it rises and panic when it falls are both the beginning of losses. Build positions in batches, keep your powder dry, and wait until the market digests expectations before looking for direction.
