Mars Finance reported that Chen Jie, a member of the Standing Committee of the Shanghai Municipal Party Committee and Vice Mayor, introduced the latest developments in Shanghai’s artificial intelligence industry at a press conference held by the Shanghai Municipal Government on July 7. According to the briefing, in 2025, the industry scale of 394 above-designated-size artificial intelligence enterprises across Shanghai exceeded 637 billion yuan, up 39.5% year over year, and has become a new driving force for economic growth in Shanghai. At present, Shanghai has established a complete development ecosystem that integrates independent innovation, application-led traction, open cooperation, ecosystem coordination, and security governance.
