Microsoft Cuts 4,800 Jobs, With Xbox Set to Lose 3,200 Roles

Microsoft is cutting 4,800 jobs, equal to about 2.1% of its global workforce. Xbox laid off 1,600 workers on Monday, July 6, and Microsoft expects another 1,600 Xbox cuts later this fiscal year. Xbox CEO Asha Sharma said the division's margins run three to ten times lower than comparable platform and publishing businesses.
