I was just browsing Bilibili and saw some people promoting the old rural collectivization again. It really pisses me off.

That kind of rural collectivization back then was absolutely wrong.
Not to mention the food issue, but back then the villagers in our village were often beaten by village cadres.
A villager was sick and couldn't get up. The village cadre accused him of being lazy and went up and beat him severely.
That was simply treating people as less than human.
My dad once lamented that back then, actually no outsiders came to bully us; it was just our own people bullying each other.
The village cadres were also locals.
