Let me put the result here first. $XAUT short went from 4308.7 to 4157.3; current profit is +326.63%. This round of high-level weakness wasn’t in vain—when the order book loosened, profits started to run out.

The clearest feeling at the time was that everyone was still talking about a rebound/reversal attempt, but the price was already not cooperating. Every time it pushed up, it was pressed back; the follow-through support got thinner and thinner. Sentiment was still hot, but the structure had turned cold. In situations like this, I’d rather stand on the side of the downside. No hesitation in execution.

I’ve taken profit with 80% of the position; the remaining 20% is still under observation. The protection level is moved down in sync. If we can catch the continuation extension of the move, we take it; if not, we don’t let too much profit get given back. The most comfortable part of shorting is realizing something is off and then seeing the price truly start to respond.

But this isn’t a place to chase a short now. Volatility has already expanded—if you’re not on the trade, just wait and watch. When the next weak rebound/retest shows up, decide then whether to keep following the rhythm. $BTC $ETH
