In a move led by the Democratic Party, 11 out of 18 standing committee chairs in South Korea's National Assembly have been elected, with the main opposition party, the People Power Party, boycotting the vote. Key positions, including the chairs of the Legislation and Judiciary Committee and the Budget and Accounts Committee, went to Democratic Party members.
