Federal Reserve Governor Waller: The Fed will not deliberately maintain low interest rates.

BlockBeats news: On July 7, Federal Reserve Governor Waller said that it is not appropriate for the Fed to deliberately keep interest rates low in order to help the U.S. government finance its fiscal deficit. He said it is reasonable to consider setting an inflation target range. Fed Chair Waller is reiterating the commitment to a 2% target, and he is more inclined to set the inflation target as a range; however, adjusting the inflation target at this stage would leave the Fed lacking credibility.
