CoinWorld News, the first Global AI Governance Dialogue was held in Geneva, Switzerland on July 6 local time. About 1,500 representatives from around the world will exchange views on AI governance during the two-day conference. UN Secretary-General António Guterres said at the opening ceremony that AI is developing at an astonishing pace, and the question is whether we will collectively harness it or let it harness us. This dialogue, for the first time, gives every country an opportunity to participate, aiming to turn global participation into global action, making AI safer, fairer, more accessible, and more ethical. The meeting will focus on four priorities: AI opportunities and impacts, capacity building and the AI divide, safe and trustworthy AI, and human rights and human oversight.

Two days to discuss four major topics, is there enough time? Feels like it's about to turn into another declaration marathon.

Guterres's words sound like a sci-fi movie line, but upon reflection, they are indeed chilling.

Putting “capacity building” and “the digital divide” together is really hits hard—developing countries are probably going to be left even farther behind.

The United Nations has finally set up the table this time; it's not easy to get 1,500 people together.
