News from CoinWires: Coinbase was recently criticized for an AI-generated prediction market alert that claimed Norway beat Brazil 3-2 before the match began, and that Haaland scored two goals. However, Coinbase’s own market page showed the match had not started due to a weather delay. This mistake has raised new questions about how trading apps use AI in real-time event products. After user feedback, Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong said, “We are looking into this with our team—thank you for your report.” At the time of the report, the company had not yet published a full public explanation. The incident comes as Coinbase continues expanding its prediction markets. Crypto.News recently reported that Coinbase has become a key participant in the World Cup prediction market competition, with Bernstein estimating that the event could bring billions of dollars in trading volume to prediction markets.
