BlockBeats news, July 6th, CryptoQuant analyst Darkfost stated that Bitcoin's (BTC) Sharpe Ratio has again fallen below -20, entering extreme negative territory. Although it has slightly recovered, historically this level typically corresponds to periods of extreme market pessimism. The Sharpe Ratio is used to measure investment returns relative to the risk of volatility, and a negative value means the risk currently being taken is higher than the returns obtained.

As of now, Bitcoin has closed lower for the third consecutive quarter, with a decline of 16.1% in the most recent quarter. Such extreme pessimistic phases often last for weeks or even months and are frequently accompanied by a new bottom-building process, laying the foundation for a subsequent market recovery. However, this indicator reflects long-term trends and should not be used as a short-term trading signal.
