According to a report by Reuters, citing a senior U.S. official, U.S. President Donald Trump plans to meet with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky during the NATO summit on July 8 to discuss solutions to the Ukraine conflict, and will then speak by phone with Russian President Vladimir Putin after the meeting.

The report said, “A senior U.S. official said Trump will meet with Zelensky this Wednesday to discuss ‘how we end this war.’ After the meeting with Zelensky, Trump will likely then call Putin. Trump is urgently hoping to push to end the conflict as soon as possible.”

Russian Presidential aide Yury Ushakov previously said that Putin told Trump during their phone call that the Russian side is prepared to resolve the Ukraine conflict through diplomatic means based on the proposals put forward by Russia. He also said the two presidents discussed the process for resolving the issue of Ukraine, taking into account Trump’s upcoming trip to Turkey for the NATO summit.
